What the Valuation Information Means

General revaluations of the Grey District are held every three years.  The last one was carried out in September 2006 and these values will be used to levy rates from 1 July 2007.

Land Value is the value of the land and Capital Value is the total value of the property.  The Value of Improvements is the difference between the two, eg if the CV is $100,000 and the LV is $30,000, then the VI will be $70,000.

A DVR number identifies a rating unit.  It contains information such as land value, capital value and land area for your property.  If your property is made up of land that has more than one Certificate of Title it will usually be divided up into multiple DVR's, one for each title (rating unit).  Every DVR has its own unique number called a DVR ID.

A RID contains the financial records (rate charges) for your property.  These financial records may be a combined total for more than one DVR.  An example of this is a house with an empty section beside it owned by the same person/s and used for the same purpose.  A RID has one unique account number called a RID ID.
