Enrolments

To enrol in any of the programmes outlined below, please complete the attached enrolment form and forward to the Swim School Co-ordinator. Lesson times and days will be confirmed once your enrolment is processed. Please feel free to contact Trish if you have any questions.

Swim Programmes

Diaper Dolphins

Babies/toddlers and their caregivers will be introduced to the water with familiarisation and confidence as the goal. We begin teaching the following eight basic skills through songs and games:

• front float
• back float
• kicking
• pulling
• swimming
• rolling over
• submerging
• breath control

These will take some time to master as they move through the stages of development.

Parental/adult involvement is required.

Programme consists of one 30 minute lesson per week and a swimming nappy must be worn.

   
Pre-Schoolers

These classes build on skills learnt in baby and toddler classes, gaining independence through songs and games. We will continue to practice the eight basic skills and expect the children to become proficient in blowing bubbles, submerging, floating on front and back with an aid, kicking and safe entry and exit.

Children are introduced to stroke development covering freestyle and backstroke and are taught in accordance with the New Zealand Swimsmart programme.  

Programme consists of one 30 minute lesson per week and a swimming nappy must be worn.

 
Advanced Pre-Schoolers

All entrants to be assessed by the Swim School Co-ordinator before being accepted into this programme. This programme is tutor directed only - no parent involvement is required.

School Aged

Programme consists of one 30 minute lesson per week.
