Changes to vehicle access at McLeans Pit Landfill & Recycling Centre
Alterations are being made to the vehicle access layout at McLeans Pit Landfill & Recycling Centre, these changes are designed to enable improved recording of the total tonnage of all products entering the site, in addition to implementing the new green waste charges.
Customers disposing of green waste, scrap metal, and untreated timber will now need to go over the weighbridge to be weighed. Disposal of scrap metal and untreated timber will remain free of charge.
The below recyclables can be dropped into crates via the usual recycling centre access gate.
- Paper & Cardboard
- Green Glass Bottles/Jars
- Brown Glass Bottles/Jars
- Clear Glass Bottles/Jars
- Tin Cans
- Aluminium Cans
- Plastics 1, 2 & 5
The location of the recycling crates has shifted to create a one-way system to assist with traffic flow. Signage and road cones will be in place to help direct traffic until permanent fixtures are in place, and our friendly staff will also be on-site to assist if required.
If you are a business that regularly disposes of green waste, we recommend obtaining a commercial customer account. If you wish to do so, contact Council on 03 769 8611.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we implement these changes.
