​Willy Wonka shop window contest

The Grey District Council is today announcing a Willy Wonka-themed shop window contest.

To celebrate the opening of the new Greymouth Library on Friday, July 3, we are encouraging shops to decorate their windows from Monday, June 29, through to Monday, July 6.

“The only limit is your imagination,” Events Facilitator Kate Dumitru said.

Voting will take place via the What’s on Greymouth Facebook page.

As well as a marketing boost, the winning store will receive a morning tea shout for all staff.

People who vote on the What’s on Greymouth Facebook page will also go in the draw to win a $100 Prezzy Card.

Staff are visiting stores in the CBD this week with information about the contest.

The Greymouth Library opening is themed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, with five Golden Tickets up for grabs. Winners will be the first members of the public through the new library during a special winners’ event.
