News & Events
With the increase in COVID-19 cases around the country, Grey District Council has put measures in place to ensure the Library can remain open in the event of staff isolation requirements.
This means we have had to make some changes to the way we will operate. In particular, we are temporarily changing our opening hours to enable staff to continue to provide you with a quality, reliable and consistent service. You can find our revised hours here.
|Book-A-Librarian||By appointment (during open hours and on weekdays only)|
|Book a free 45 minute appointment with one of our friendly librarians for help with topics such as: basic computer skills; smartphones and devices; job searching, updating your CV or navigating government websites; downloading eBooks, eAudiobooks and library apps; emails; and family history research. |
To make an appointment, visit us at the Library or contact us via phone or email.
|Justices of the Peace||Tuesdays, 1pm to 3pm|
The West Coast Justices of the Peace will run a service desk in the West Coast Room of the Library for members of the public who need their services.
Please check back for future holiday events.
|The Book Which Travels||Starts December 20 2021|
|The three district libraries of the West Coast -Grey, Westland, and Buller- have joined forces to bring you this exciting new project. 'The Book Which Travels' will start blank and your role will be to fill it with your own stories! The theme for this first edition is “Write your story about how you ended up living on the Coast”. It does not matter if you have lived here for your entire life or if you just arrived a few days ago. |
You will have two months before the book moves to its next location. At the project's completion, the stories will be published in an anthology and will be on display at each library and on each library’s online catalogue, so stay tuned!
|Click and Collect||January 26, 2022-present|
|During our reduced operating hours, if you would like for us to make or gather a selection of Library material for you to take away, then please phone (03 768 5597) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) us to make arrangements. |
We will contact you when your material is available for collection. Please allow up to 24 hours for this to be ready.
