Book-A-Librarian	By appointment (during open hours and on weekdays only)
Book a free 30 minute appointment with one of our friendly librarians for help with topics such as: basic computer skills; smartphones and devices; job searching, updating your CV or navigating government websites; downloading eBooks, eAudiobooks and library apps; emails; and family history research. To make an appointment, visit us at the Library or contact us via phone or email.
Justices of the Peace	Tuesdays, 1pm to 3pm
The West Coast Justices of the Peace will run a service desk in the West Coast Room of the Library for members of the public who need their services. No appointment necessary - just pop in with your paperwork!
Reading with Mrs Higgins	Tuesdays, 3pm to 4pm
Mrs Higgins who comes to the Library on Tuesday afternoons with her owner Katie Shannon, and is available for children to read aloud to her. Research has shown that children can increase in reading confidence when reading aloud to a dog - the dog doesn't put any pressure on the reader and creates a non-judgmental audience "dogs listen attentively, do not laugh, judge or criticise (and) allow children to proceed at their own pace".
Storytime	Thursdays, 10am to 10.30am (during term time)
A relaxed and fun session of stories, rhymes, songs, and dancing for pre-schoolers. All welcome.

Lego Day Competition

When: Tuesday 07/07, from 11am.
Where: Greymouth Library.
Age range: Up to 17 years old.
Details: Build your favourite scene from a book and be in to win! Prizes awarded for the best representations!
Bring: All materials provided.

Games Night!

When: Wednesday 08/07, from 5.30pm.
Where: Greymouth Library.
Age range: Open to all ages.
Details: Let's celebrate our first Late Night Wednesday by playing all sorts of games!
Whether you want to play a Board Game or play the Nintendo Switch, you are welcome to join us!

Matariki: Star-weaving

When: Thursday 09/07, 10am-11am.
Where: Greymouth Library.
Age range: Open to all ages.
Details: Let's make some Stars and Wishes for the New Year! We will hang them in the Library but you can create several to take home!
Bring: All materials provided.

Badge Making & Colouring-in

When: Tuesday 14/07, 10am-11am.
Where: Greymouth Library.
Age range: From 8 to 17 years old.
Details: Design your own badges! Make a drawing of your favorite story or character and follow the staff guidance to make your own badge!
Bring: All materials provided.

Teddy Bear Sleepover

When: Wednesday 15/07, 3.30pm-4.30pm.
Where: Greymouth Library.
Age range: Up to 12 years old.
Details: Join us for a storytime in pyjamas and leave your teddy bear (or another special toy) at the library for a special overnight sleepover.
We’ll tuck them safely to bed but who knows? They might not go to sleep and prefer to play! Pick them up the next day to see what they have been up to!
Bring: All materials provided.

Dress-up Book Quiz & Games

When: Friday 17/07, 1pm-3pm.
Where: Greymouth Library.
Age range: Please note that this activity is up to 17 years old.
Details: Dress up as your favorite character and join us for a book-themed Quiz & Games!

Age range: Up to 12 years old.

Scavenger Hunt

Where: Greymouth Library.
Age range: Up to 12 years old.
Details: Find the book characters hidden around the library and go in to win a prize!

Bookmark Competition

When: 04/07 to 18/07. During opening hours.
Where: Greymouth Library.
Age range: All ages.
Details: We need new bookmarks for our New Library!
Design our new bookmark and be in to win a prize! And, of course, have the joy of knowing people taking your design home!
