Resident Satisfaction Survey

Each year the Council arranges for a survey to be carried out to measure public satisfaction with Council’s performance, services and facilities as outlined in our Long Term Plan. Council uses this public opinion survey as a useful tool to gauge how well the community supports what it’s doing, its direction and priorities.

The resident satisfaction survey also asks some questions on perceptions of our District, such as do people have pride in how the District looks and feels and if they think the Grey District is a great place to live. These responses are helpful in measuring the success of initiatives and projects from the Community Economic Development Strategy.

The survey is carried out by an independent contractor, Opinions Market Research Limited, and consists of telephone interviews with about 350 residents of the Grey District. Residents are randomly selected which ensures that most interests in the community are represented ― young people, families and older residents and people from all over the district.

Survey results are included in our Annual Report performance measures for the various activities and also helps Council to prioritise its future planning, as well as giving useful feedback on residents' perception of Council services.

Phone interviews for the 2018 Resident Satisfaction Survey will start on Tuesday 16 October 2018 and will take place over three to four weeks. The survey will take around 15 minutes to complete; if you are called, we’d love for you to take the time to answer the questions and provide your feedback.
