The Grey District Council wishes to advise all consumers on the Greater Greymouth Water Supply that a precautionary boil water notice has been issued.
An E.coli has been detected in a sample taken in the Kaiata zone so the precautionary boil water notice has been put in place whist further sampling is being undertaken.
Daily sampling has commenced for all zones connected to the Greater Greymouth Water Supply.
This affects consumers in the Greymouth, Cobden, Blaketown, Boddytown, Karoro, South Beach, Paroa, Kaiata, Dobson, Taylorville, Stillwater, Runanga, Dunollie, Coal Creek & Rapahoe areas.
All drinking water should be boiled until further notice.
Please note that in order of this boiled water notice to be lifted, three clear days of sampling and testing is required. Council will commence this testing and will monitor the situation closely in the coming days.
Council will update residents via our website and Facebook pages as the situation develops.
