| Puppies and Newly Acquired Dogs | |||
| Registration fees for dogs newly imported into New Zealand, puppies before the age of 3 months, and newly acquired unregistered dogs is calculated by dividing the applicable full year registration fee by 12, and multiplying that amount be the number of full months remaining in the registration year. | |||
| Dog registration is transferrable between Districts of New Zealand without further fees being payable during a registration year. If a dog dies the registration fee paid will be refunded on the basis of the number of full months remaining in the registration year after the request for refund is made to Council in writing. | |||
